"Roxy" was rescued as a puppy and adopted to a family at the age of eight weeks. At eight months her new family brought her to an Animal Shelter. Roxy was traced to Pound Puppy Rescue from her microchip and re-rescued. She was treated for kennel cough which she acquired in the shelter. With the help of Furry Friends Rescue and a new foster home, Roxy has finally found her "forever" home and has recently moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where she lives on 6 fenced acres with her doggie friend "Sulu" and kitty friend " Snuffles". Roxy has a doggie door so she can go inside or outside as she pleases. Roxy's new family say she is loveable and mischievous and they adore her sweet personality! Roxy had a rough start in life but luckily is now thriving. Her story is why we screen all potential puppy adopters and make sure adopters are "puppy ready". Puppies are cute but they do chew, dig, are not housebroken, and take a lot of TIME to train and socialize. Make sure you have the time and patience for a puppy before you decide to bring one home.

Pound Puppy Rescue is a small Not-For-Profit Rescue Group dedicated to helping
unwanted puppies find "forever" homes. We rescue puppies
who have been abandoned and we rescue unwanted litters that have ended
up in shelters. All puppies are fostered in private homes where
they are less stressed, able to stay healthy, and are better socialized.
Founded in 2001, we have rescued over 300 puppies!
**Please note that we do not adopt to families with children under the age of six. Puppies take an enormous amount of time, patience, and energy as do small children. 80% of puppies placed in homes with small children come back because it is close to impossible to properly care for both. Puppies normal behavior is to bite and jump...behaviors which are not tolerated well by small children. Email Address: poundpuppyrescue@comcast.net |
