Reading either Ian Dunbar's "Before and After Getting Your Puppy" or Gwen Bailey's "The Perfect Puppy" is recommended prior to adopting a puppy from Pound Puppy Rescue. We want adopters to be current on raising a puppy and committed to the dog for life. Adoption fee is $300. $50 of the adoption fee is refunded after proof of completion of a puppy training class. $250 of adoption fee covers spaying/neutering, microchipping, first vaccine, deworming, collar, and 5# of puppy food. We do not adopt to families with children under the age of six years since puppies normal behavior is to jump and bite...both behaviors small children do not tolerate well. We require home visits prior to adopting a puppy.
